On The Second Day Of Christmas....

Getting ready to go to Wal-Mart!

I got up this morning and did my routine of walking, doing good with keeping that routine so far!  Then after giving Ashley her chore list I did a few things around the house. So call me crazy , but I went to Wal-Mart! I started out thinking of a few things I needed, then it grew and grew. So going to one of the smaller stores would not do. The traffic was already getting bad. I got lucky and found a parking spot on the side I usually park, though it was much further back. But ,at least I would not lose my van! I must have pushed my way through Wal-Mart 2 hours before getting out! All the while texting my Aunt Dot. It's fun to be able to chat while shopping. Who knew life would have so many opportunities! Now the hard part was not the shopping, but the getting out of the parking lot!  People were stopping in the middle of the lanes, pulling out in front of you and then just halting.  I finally maneuvered my way out!  I do admit I took the longer way home, it was less congested!  The good news is I am safe in my home till the 26th. On this day I will wake up early and hit 2 stores! One is the Hallmark shop and the other was some place ,well I can not even recall :(
It may not look busy here, but it was!
I also cleaned the refrigerator. I guess I spent over an hour on that big job!

After getting home and putting groceries away, Tim ,Ashley and I enjoyed some of my brother Kenny's home cheesecake. Kenny had brought half a cake to us earlier in the week. Tim suggested I open the canned cherries to pour on our slices. I did and that was mighty good!

Ashley had been cleaning the house for me while I was gone earlier, then later she went to help mom do some grocery shopping at Food-lion. I knew she would be happy to go and it would be helpful for mom if she went to lift and help load and unload. Terry was in town and staying at mom's,but he had been working on mom's sink. Mom told me how she was trying to teach Ashley how to shop for the best price. How a sale does not always mean the item is cheaper. Ashley caught on pretty fast. I will feel safe sending Ashley in for a quick item in the future now ;) After Ashley got home we watched "Robinson Caruso". It turned out to be worth watching . Oh, and we caught an old Christmas episode of "Cheers". Watching "Cheers" brought back old memories of how much I miss the old comedies! Tim and I watched another old made for TV movie on Netflix. After that ir was time for bed. I love the Holidays and spending the quality time together baking, shopping and movie watching. Not to forget eating allot too!
I can not forget to mention that Ashley's friend,Erica Appleton brought us a huge tray of goodies today!!

I remembered to get the batteries in Tigger! Tim groaned! But, Tigger brings back memories of Ashley when she was so little. She would walk in front of Tigger and it set him off. He will bounce and say " Have a Merry Christmas" and many holidays sayings. I wanted to have him ready for when my nephews come. Elmo is ready too!!
