Cleaning day

 This is a day meant for cleaning!!

When it rains,I like to clean!

Yesterday it was one of those yucky rainy days. I decided just to stay home and get some cleaning done. I guess part of the motivation was finding out remodeling the kitchen cabinetry will be pretty costly,so it'll be a long time getting to that. I will just make mine look nice for now. They really are not too bad, just many years dated!

Tim tired of me fussing about the old vacuum we had,he came home with this baby :)



First thing I did was clean the kitchen. It was not really messy but I wanted to rub down those old worn out cabinets.



Who ever lived here before us didn't take care of these old cabinets. They are stripped in some places where they let the steam from cooking mess them up :(  Not many notice till I point that out. One friend told me they look fine to her,that they go with the era of the home. They are custom made for this home. I guess that comment made me feel better about my kitchen. I just found out new cabinets and a counter would be $30,000.00! That is not even including anything like hardward or appliences.  Also not including new lighting or taking the saufets out. Since we just did the counter tops and appliances 3 years ago, I think we are going to just see about refinishing  the cabinets later,or living with them a few more years.

Getting the cookbooks mom handed down to me in order.

The hutch was one mom and dad bought when they were married. One of the few pieces they still had. After mom had to move she wanted me to have it. Dad really loved that piece. So bad he had  it in his bathroom to hold towel and etc. just to keep it with them. I will take good care of it dad!

Last room I cleaned was the big sun porch/4 seasons room. there is always stuff to be cleaned in here!!

Mom made all those curtains the year after we moved in. So I am guessing "2000" I sure love them!!

It took a while but after moving stuff around dusting and polishing the room is all clean,and I feel great!!!!!
