Misty morn in June

Early last week I went out to water the plants and the fog was so thiick I thought it would make for some cool pictures. So I ran back in and grabbed the camera. From this view I think the house looks a bit spooky and mysterious. But it might just be the fog :o)

I LOVE my lily pond built by all our pond friends in 2004. On this morn I could here the frogs singing. As I got closer they started hopping into the pond. This year we just have the Hardy lilies. No tropicals. Except for a couple our good friend Gary sent from Oklahoma. I hope they bloom soon! Maybe next year we will get an early start and order some tropicals. They do not make it through the winter like the Hardy lilies do. But they sure are pretty while they last!!Coming around the corner .I can't believe those daisies have been here almost as long as we have. I planted them in 2000. They have made it through all kinds of freezes and heat waves. While many plants are recouping from last years drought these flowers are looking great.

The old play area does not get much play anymore. I still like having it. The house is good for storing garden figurings in the winter. I guess it has turned into a little garden house. I love this Hydrangea. It starts out with big white cone shaped flowers then they turn pink by mid June.
Those two seats are the best place to sit in the morning or evening and enjoy the koi and the water fall. The koi will swim up and start swishing around wanting to be fed. There is a spot by the fall where we hand feed them treats.
Back view of the middle pond. This was actually the first pond we built. Tim placed each stone and dug it out with a shovel. He put down the liner himself. It was a great lesson in building a pond .Tim did not really know what he was getting in to. I nagged for about a year for a pond and I was so happy when he broke down and dug it out.I think he was inspired because we had the screen porch converted that same year into a Florida room. Even though it is not as deep as we would like for the long fins I love this pond and how it looks and the enjoyment we have had with it over the years. I think it was built around 2003.
The plants are certainly growing. The butterfly bushes are in bloom and every day I see lots of butterflys as well as bees and birds.

The sounds of the water is wonderful, It is so relaxing. Wish I had a place for a hammock .

You can cross over the short stream by walking on the rock we place in it. That takes you to a path that leads to more plants and a spot where we like to sit under the crape myrtles to feed the Koi.

A view from the back yard looking back up at the ponds and house. That area on the back of the house is my sun porch. The cat hangs out there watching the birds and koi . My dream is to have a path that goes all the way around the pond and a gazebo to stop and rest in along the way. Some day :o)

beautiful!!
makes me miss things such as:
fog, humidity (well, at least a little), yards, grass, ponds, flowers, manual labor, etc. you just don't get all of that here in so cal...except the flowers.

Love the ponds and flowers! If I were your neighbor I'd come sit in your yard...it looks so beautiful and peaceful. Can you come to Alabama and do landscape design for my yard?

These pictures are stunning! You've shared pics of the ponds before, but never a "walk around" like this!!! I'm telling you, one of these days we are going to get on a plane and move in!!! LOL!!!
