Our day in Huntsville

Had a nice weekend. Went to my sister Robin's home in Huntsville. I always enjoy seeing Zach,Tate and Leo. They are a handful but loads of fun.

Robin took Ashley, Andrew and I on a tour of where she works. Going to George C. Marshal Space center is pretty interesting. We saw where many NASA experiments took place and take place now. We went to Robin's office area and she explained to us what she does now and we got to see things many people never do. I had some brain fog due to no coffee ,but I found it interesting. We went out on sites and saw testing sites for rockets or missiles. Seeing the pieces that get the rockets into space was very interesting and to hear about how many came about.

Ashley and Andrew in front of the  "RS-25 Engine" At George C. Marshal Space center. The RS-25, otherwise known as the Space Shuttle Main Engine (SSME),   was used on NASA's Space Shuttle.

Developed  in the late 1950s and used in the Saturn V rocket in the 1960s and early 1970s. The F-1 Engine is still the most powerful single-chamber liquid-fueled rocket engine ever developed.

Warhner Vaun Braun~Wernher Von Braun (1912–1977) was one of the most important rocket developers and champions of space exploration during the period between the 1930s and the 1970s.In 1960, his rocket development center transferred from the Army to the newly established NASA and received a mandate to build the giant Saturn rockets. Accordingly, Von Braun became director of NASA’s Marshall Space Flight Center and the chief architect of the Saturn V launch vehicle, the super booster that would propel Americans to the Moon.

This is the "Propulsion Research Center".  Robin worked with monopropellants . She showed us where she worked back in 2005 and the chambers she would place the chemicals in as they mixed.  She had to wear fireproof clothing masks and shoes that were grounded.

On our way to Tate's Farm
