Ashley's campaign

I was not really surprised when Ashley came home and said she wanted to run for student council. She wanted me to help her make a couple cool posters and she practiced her little campaign speech.
They hung the posters Tuesday and voted Thursday. Not allot of time for campaigning. When I went to pick Ashley up Thursday she said she didn't get elected, nor did anyone she voted for. Turns out only one boy was elected from her previous elementary school. She wasn't real upset since she realized there were just not enough kids that knew her from the previous year in her "Electric Cowboy "Group. So she said "Mom can you cover up the 2006? Next year I'll use these when I run again. By then the kids will all know me" I was pretty proud of how she felt about the situation and turned lemons into lemonade. She also said she wants to see about going to the first Jr.Civitan meeting. Ashley you make mom really
proud!!

Yay Ashley! She had some awesome posters! And an even greater spirit about the whole thing. I loved reading about this!

When I was in the 8th grade I ran for student council president. I ran against a boy who is now married to my sister. :) My maiden name was Potter. So his campaign slogan was "Vote for Potter and you'll go where it's Hotter!" :) LOL - I lost but not by a lot so I guess he didn't generate too much fear! :)
