Preparing to be a beauty pageant contestant

It was a very busy week! I had clients needing help with buying homes, helping my mother get to the doctor and getting my daughter ready for the "Miss Clarksville High School Pageant"! The latter was very fun! Ashley surprised us when she decided to take on the  Miss CHS challenge.

Ashley started taking some voice lessons back in October to help her with her voice. Although Ashley already had a very beautiful voice,  she and I thought it would help her with control. She really enjoyed the lessons and has learned so much about singing. She even joined the Church choir.

Together Ashley and I enjoyed finding dresses for the dance. we did not realize that the formal was to be more of a pageant gown, just needed a more grand scale dress than we originally had picked out, so the day before the pageant Ashley and I set out to find that gown, shoes and jewelry. Ashley found the perfect dress that made her feel more comfortable on stage.  I guess the only thing we did not think about was the length was a little long. Not too bad but just a tad long. Ashley did not really want us to spend this much on a gown for her special night, but knowing all the effort she had put into it we chose to buy her the gown and she felt like a princess in it. Here are just a few gowns Ashley tried on before deciding on the beautiful purple gown.

I thought Ashley looked like a goddess in the dress.

This one was super cute!
Just a bit too big and no time to fix it.

A bit light for her skin

This is the one mommy!

All the above was done the day before the big night! Before all that a few weeks earlier we shopped all day and found all the dresses below ...

Original dress was a little big. We were going to have it taken in.
But Ashley ended up with the new dress.

 The beach wear scene.

All made up!

The dress for the Talent segment

This one was her choice for the early morning interview.

Here Ashley is ready for her morning interview :)
All business!

The girls in there beach wear.
Just after beach wear they took turns doing the talent portion of the show. The was the best part. I was too busy listening to take a picture. I did hold the camera to my side and made a bad video though :)
Ashley being escorted onto the stage. She looked so beautiful!
Made me realize she now a young adult.

Ashley was so nervous!
Here she is. She may not have won, but she had a great time! When they placed that crown on her head she said she felt like a princess!! Her plan is to do it again next year!
