2016 Year in review!!

Today is a bit late for starting the new Year so I will start with the New month of the year! 2016 was a changing year for my family. First we were dealing with the fact my daughter had escaped a very emotionally and in so many ways a physically abusive relationship with the boyfriend of almost 5 years. We were stunned, sadden, heartbroken and angry! Along with him abusing her his cheating led to a very messed up situation where the girl he cheated with was stalking Ashley and later verbally attacked her.  With advice from a counselor we left the church we loved to be far away from these two people.  We left and have still been searching for another church.  The hurt of being let down in so many ways by people we trusted has made us a very cautious of others. We have struggled and my family had allot of sadness and disappointment in the mind set of how abused girls are treated by those they go to for help. No matter what we still look to God and friends.

The following year brought a mentally happier daughter.. though her scars will always remain, her vibrant personality and health have returned. Ashley found her old friends were still her friends. They had been so un-liking of her ex they stayed away for years. Now she had her friends back and started to enjoy school and talking to God more.  Then later in the Fall a new young man came along and they seem to have a good time, talking about some of their similar interests.
My little family got big into the cars in the Spring of 2016 now and have enjoyed car shows. We have bought a few classic cars and Tim has been enjoying working on them in has garage.

My business has done well and I decided to have a friend who became a realtor come along and join me as an assistant for me. It already has been a great idea as she helps keep me organized. I hope this means more sales and less stress in 2017!

My hopes for 2017... I pray we connect with a church again.  I pray we keep enjoying the cars and Tim continues to enjoy the hobby and makes them look awesome! We have a 64'Mustang, a 71 Camaro SS Convertible , a falcon (70's) and a sweet little classic PINK and Pearl Karma Ghia. We sold my 71 VW bug back to the original owner (He found us and we sold it back) Tim has another 68" vw bug he will rebuild.. Sold the pontoon and jet skis. Can't have time for everything!
I am onto a new hobby of quilting. I have not made anything yet just learning slowly and doing allot of cutting! I am really excited to learn and be creative. I also still enjoy scrapbooking on occasion.

We enjoyed a great vacation in Virginia. We visted my Aunts and Uncles. Terry,Jim ,Barbara and Jeff. Ashley had fun hanging out with my cousin Isaac. The lake Aunt Terri and Uncle Jim live on is beautiful and what a retreat! My other Aunt lives on a golf course and we enjoyed visiting Richmond VA as well as Mineral Springs VA. We toured Washington D.C. with my Aunt and Uncle, that was all so fun! Hoping to go again in 2017! Family visits, Boat rides on the lake, Shopping ,site seeing and good food made for a great vacation!
